 I am attempting to pack for my next trip, and  it dawned on me… I am going to be out of town for 32 out of the next 42 days.  My next trip is to North Carolina for two days, and then I am gone for 27 days straight.  This would be fine except for the fact that I realized I only have one suitcase, and I have to pack for 80 degree weather and 30 degree weather… hmmmm what to do.  So, now I am thinking of ways that I can save on space.  I usually pack a large makeup bag, or two (you need a large assortment when you are doing press events, interviews, and desk sides).

 This time I am cutting down, way down.  When I did this I realized that I have certain products that I refuse to leave the house without..these are the products that made the cut. What are your must haves for travel?

Now I just have to figure out what clothes to pack… Wish me luck!!!

cover-up mid-week party time

As we all know sometimes the stars align, a few key decisions are made, and that quiet mid-week dinner with friends can unexpectedly, serendipitously, take you on a fantastic voyage to a fabulous fist-pumping dance party. Of course the AM effects of “school-night” revelry are usually enough to deter one from going all-out. Yes it’s the middle of the week; yes you have a conference call the next morning…but you know what? Every now and then you just want to party and it happens to be a Monday night. But did you know that for the morning after, Benefit concealers, like erase paste and boi-ing, are the tried and true fake-awake solutions that work every time? In fact, Benefit concealers have been around for good-time gals since the 1970’s–and you KNOW how much people liked to party back then–so party on!

I’ll raise you a benebuck

Going once…going twice…it’s the 3rd Annual Benefit Auction! Last week, as the official auctioneer, our CEO auctioned off items to a rapt crowd of Benefit employees armed with “benebucks” and pink bidding paddles.

It was quite the array of items up on the auction block, from new beauty products (obvi), to a feather duster with matching leopard dust pan, an antique tea set and even hat-shaped hat hooks. All of these gently-loved items were brought in by fellow Benefit employees and deemed ready for a new home.

Being slightly competitive, I had my eyes set on a new popcorn set, and was willing to spend all the ”benebucks” in the world to get it! After a tense bidding showdown, I am now the proud owner of a popcorn set (however, I must admit I didn’t think through the logic of actually getting it home).

A few bidding wars, no tears, and a great pizza party for lunch, this auction was far better than Christie’s and everyone wins; all additional items that weren’t auctioned off were donated to Goodwill. Once I figure out how to get a popcorn set on the bus, I’m thinking that my weekend will consist of a movie…and some popcorn.

posietint: just what the doctor ordered

I was home sick last week with an icky stomach ache…thank goodness for my nurse cat (disclaimer: I’m a crazy cat lady) who took care of me all day. Also to the rescue? That bright pink liquid medicine most of us have been using since childhood to smooth out tummy troubles.

Which got me thinking…my fave cheek stain, posietint, is basically the same texture. And arguably, just as helpful, especially when you’re feeling under the weather.
