going all out for fashion’s night out

Runway makeup lessons, bumping music, celebrity DJ’s, dancers, street performers, flashing cameras, TV crews, crowds of women…Benefit rocked Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out with the hottest beauty event to hit NYC. The pink carpet was literally rolled out to welcome the hundreds of fashionista shoppers who flooded into Sephora Times Square for the Benefit Backstage Beauty event which kept the party going thru midnight.

Benefit Co-founder Jane Ford worked the high-energy crowd, demonstrating makeup techniques and stopping only to smile for photo-ops with guests, while top Global Trend Artists Maggie & Annie Ford Danielson created the perfect catwalk-chic looks on clients. The beauty team on hand was comprised of Benefit’s top Beauty Artists many of whom were flown in specifically for the event.

Lucky shoppers scored exclusive Benefit backstage beauty totes with full-sized product, a deluxe sample and the September issue of Vogue.  Even luckier were shoppers who won the hourly raffle prizes of Benefit makeup bags overflowing with Benefit goodies.

Drawing in crowds as well as dozens of impromptu break dancing shows outside the store (it is Times Square after all) was DJ Miss Saigon spinning hot beats for Benefit’s team of backstage dancers (…click to check out their moves!).

If you’re a New Yorker, or were fortunate enough to be in town last week, you were most likely one of the thousands of people checking out various Fashion’s Night Out activities happening across all 5 boroughs. This initiative led by Vogue magazine, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and the city of New York, was designed to “make shopping fun again” and marked an exciting start to Fashion Week.
