HOW TO

party like a shamrock-star

Happy St. Patrick’s day, BeneBabes! Along with a pot o’ gold, shamrocks, and leprechauns, this holiday tradition often includes the looming threat of being pinched if not wearing the color green. If you’re lacking green in your wardrobe or just want some extra emerald flava, try out the fun St. Patty’s eye look below! Thankfully, green is HUGE for spring, and our velvet eyeshadows make this tricky trend easy to master in a snap. This subtly sexy look is perfect for today and any night you’re feeling green…

BEFORE: barefaced beauty

First, I prepped my willing victim Ashlye with stay don’t stray, our new 360 degree eye primer, to ensure the shadows stayed true and didn’t budge through a (potentially long) evening of fun. A little erase paste was all she needed to touch up the under eye area.

AFTER: shamrockin'!

Next, I used high brow pencil to lightly highlight under the brow bone and in the inner corner of the eye. I then applied velvet eyeshadow in bikini line, a warm golden nude, all over the lid, focusing on the inner third. To bring the drama, I used BADgal liner waterproof, an awesomely blendable black, to draw a thick line starting from the center of the lid, and growing thicker as I reached the outer corner.

Then comes the fun part…I blended velvet eyeshadow in shamrocker (totes appropriate!), an icy mint green shade, in the center third of the lid. Then, velvet eyeshadow in mermaid, a deep golden green, on the outer third up in to the crease. This color looks especially gorgeous when applied over black eyeliner.

I used a slant brush to line the lower lashes with the darker green mermaid shade, and finished off with a coat of BADgal blue mascara. The perfect final touch? A sparkly shamrock sticker – a bit 1996, but hey, it’s a national holiday! Ashlye’s definitely ready to find a pot of gold tonight…or at least a frothy glass of green ale.
