Benebabes, meet Kate. She’s our resident Social Butterfly here at Benefit, working with the top magazines to build the Benefit buzz coast to coast. When Kate isn’t on the phone dishing with beauty editors about our latest and greatest products, she can be found scouting the hottest sales online or getting her pottery groove on in a ceramics studio. You can hear the signature laugh of this Seattle-bred gal from the other side of the office…luckily, I sit right beside her, so I was able to get the inside scoop on her beauty faves and inspirations. Check it out!
My favorite Benefit product is…dallas. I’ve tried about million bronzers and never found one with such a perfect shade. I was using it for years before I started at Benefit. It gives me that healthy glow without looking overdone.
The thing I’m most inspired by is…my mom. She’s the most beautiful, kind and fun person I know. Whenever I need a little pick-me-up, she’s the first person I call.
The five things I love/can’t live without…
- Rudy, my border terrier
- Venti iced coffees
- Saturday morning Vinyasa Flow yoga class
- Nudie-tude ultra shine lipgloss
- Diptyque candles
My first Benefit product was…benetint. My college roommate Jane used to keep it in the bathroom and one day I figured out it wasn’t nail polish! That natural flush was perfect with my casual classroom college look and is still just as perfect for every day at the office. In fact, now a bottle sits right next to my computer at work!
My favorite place in San Francisco/Bay Area…Lafayette Park near my apartment. It’s a great place to get sun (well, when San Francisco actually gets any sunshine!) and people watch but never too crowded. I love the view of the bay from the top of the hill.
The color wheel: My favorite color is…pink, pink and more pink. I used to think it was just an obsession when I was a little girl, but then I never grew out of it. (And yes, I love the candy-colored walls here at Benefit HQ!)
My makeup trend I regret the most from when I was younger is…white eyeliner all around the eyes. I don’t know how or why this trend started and I’m even more baffled by the fact I thought it was a good idea. Not a good look.
If I could live any other place I’d live in… Paris. I love all things French: language, art, style, history, etc. And hey, the shopping’s not too bad, either.
My favorite Benefit moment….the first day we moved into our new offices, otherwise known as Beauty Central. It’s like a pretty, pink palace with amazing views of the city and the bay.
Thanks for sharing your faves, Kate!
