ny fashion week…runway to everyday

Now that NY Fashion Week has ended we are left with hundreds of inspiring runway looks ranging from barely-there to downright intense (electric blue lips, anyone?). While we can try any of these looks behind closed doors, which beauty trends from the runway can we actually use every day?

Here we’ve rounded up 3 of our favorite wearable looks to try from NY Fashion Week Spring 2012 and made them easy.

Rachel Zoe-inspired…

ooh la la

Channeling French actresses from the 60’s & 70’s, the Rachel Zoe spring collection gave a nod to effortlessly-sexy glamour. Emilie from Marketing shows us how a little BADgal liner waterproof around the eyes instantly captures the look combined with soft face-framing tendrils a la Brigitte Bardot. Adding a few coats of they’re real mascara on the top and bottom lashes turns up the drama. Finally to create dewy sunkissed skin we defined her cheeks with hoola matte bronzer and used watt’s up highlighter on her cheekbones and nose bridge.

Marc Jacobs inspired…

loaded lashes

The Marc Jacobs collection was the talk of the town with it’s 1920’s dance-hall flair and cool 60’s vibe. The models rocked well defined brows, liquid eyeliner, false lashes & dewy skin to complement drop waist dresses and turban-style head wraps. I created a dramatic lash-look by applying Lash Lovelies prima donna lash (TIP: I cut one strip in half and applied each half to the outer corners of the eyes), topped off with magic ink liquid liner and a few coats they’re real mascara. For the skin, I used watt’s up to create a dewy effect. Finally I used instant brow pencil to define brows and threw on a head wrap.

Thakoon inspired…

brows n' browns

Models at Thakoon wore dramatic nests of hair tacked with colored paste however; their faces told a much more subtle story with bold brows, muted brown shadows and nude lips. While we weren’t huge fans of the funky hair-dos, we did love the pretty neutrals. Here we filled Germaina’s brows in with brow zings and used big beautiful eyes to lightly shade and line eyes.  For her complexion we used a little bit of chachatint on cheeks to create a natural flush. Finally, for lips we applied sheer pink life on the a list ultra shines lipgloss.
