A No-Fuss Beauty Routine

Hey beauty lovers! My name is Alana & I’m the blogger behind The Good Girl Gone Blog, a lifestyle guide for girls in their 20’s.

When it comes to my morning beauty routine, I’m a no-fuss kind of gal. I’m blessed with cooperative skin and a colorful wardrobe, so I like to keep my makeup simple & pretty. For me, it’s all about finding a balanced look, enhancing my features and feeling comfortable.

Recently, I’ve had so much fun playing with Benefit products & incorporating them into my daily beauty routine. When I only have five minutes to get glam-on-the-go, I rely on these Benefit best-sellers to look natural & polished in no time.

1. Moisturizer
First, I apply my favorite moisturizer (preferably with SPF) and eye cream to serve as a base for the rest of my makeup. Then I coat my lips in balm or lip primer—this smooths them and fill in any cracks that might soak up too much lip stain like benetint.

2. Concealer
Next I heat up concealer by rubbing it between my fingertips for ease of application & blending. I then put a small amount on, starting at the outside corner of my eye, moving inward to cover dark circles. For extra redness coverage, I also apply it around the sides of my nose.

3. Bronzer
Now it’s time to whip out the hoola for a faux-glow! I always tap off excess bronzer, especially with a fair complexion like mine. Dust on cheeks, nose and anywhere else you normally tan.

4. Highlighter
For a dewy shine that hits the light just right, I add girl meets pearl to cheekbones, cupid’s bow and brow bones.

5. Mascara
On most days, I skip heavy liner & make my eyes pop by adding a coat of they’re real! mascara on upper and lower lashes.

6. Stain
Before I head out the door, I paint on a coat of benetint on my upper & lower lips, and rub them together. I’m feeling extra saucy, I let the first coat dry & then add 1-2 more coats for a darker red flush.

Voilà! A fuss-free, five-minute beauty routine that’s natural & pretty. What’s your morning ritual & how long does it take you to get ready?
