The cool kids will be out to play this weekend, as our lovely city by the bay welcomes the invasion of indie artists for the annual summer music festival, Outside Lands. Several of us gals here at the office will be attending the three-day festival with these must-have Benefit products that no Benebabe should be without during her summer adventures. (I know these babies will be in my satchel all weekend long!)
For the gal-on-the-go, as so many of us Benebabes are, it seems there is never enough time in the day to get it all done. One common problem area? Mornings! I don't know about you, but I'm always running out the door wishing I had a few more minutes in my morning routine. To kick off this marvelous Monday morning, I did an unofficial survey and asked gals (and 1 guy!) here in the office what they would do with 5 extra minutes in their morning routines...check out the answers below! Some people collect stamps, comic books, baseball cards, or dolls… heck, celebrities even have closets of shoes that they classify as a collection. Personally, I have a fixation on fragrance. My collection currently boasts about 15… ok 25 bottles, each one purposely placed on display in my room. Every fragrance is like a little piece of artwork, each one exhibiting for just a day. As most of the country is in full fledge summer (us San Franciscans might experience a day or two here in September…will keep you posted!) it’s important to update your fragrance for the season. Think of it like your wardrobe, you wouldn’t wear a cowl-neck, wool sweater in August (again if you are in SF, you might need to keep that one handy).
My good friend Erica got married this past weekend and I had the honor of doing her makeup for the big day. This is now my third time doing a friend's makeup for her wedding and I seem to get more and more nervous each time...I'm not quite sure why?! Maybe because as my own big day quickly approaches (t-minus 3 weeks) the reality that I'm doing a bride's makeup for one of the biggest days of her life becomes more and more clear.
To makeup or not to makeup? That is the question, at least when it applies to different social situations. For example, is it ever okay to apply makeup while at the dinner table? I was inspired to delve into this topic further when I was recently discussing with a friend whether it is acceptable to check one's cell phone during dinner. I personally, am not a fan of checking a phone during dinner, primarily out of respect to my dining companion. But what about reapplying lipstick after you've finished your meal? Or touching up your makeup on public transit?
But seriously, the ultra radiance facial re-hydrating mist is my new obsession, and I admit, lately I've been "sharing" a spritz or two with my lucky coworkers! I had never used a facial mist before, so at first, I was skeptical as to why someone would need one. But now, this cooling mist is a mainstay on my dresser...and desk.
