To makeup or not to makeup? That is the question, at least when it applies to different social situations. For example, is it ever okay to apply makeup while at the dinner table? I was inspired to delve into this topic further when I was recently discussing with a friend whether it is acceptable to check one's cell phone during dinner. I personally, am not a fan of checking a phone during dinner, primarily out of respect to my dining companion. But what about reapplying lipstick after you've finished your meal? Or touching up your makeup on public transit?
But seriously, the ultra radiance facial re-hydrating mist is my new obsession, and I admit, lately I've been "sharing" a spritz or two with my lucky coworkers! I had never used a facial mist before, so at first, I was skeptical as to why someone would need one. But now, this cooling mist is a mainstay on my dresser...and desk.
Remember the glory days of paint-by-number, when instructions were crystal clear and you always ended up with a masterpiece. If you’re a gal (like me) who wished putting on makeup was just as easy, and are hopeful that one day there will be a makeup for dummies club in your community, then look no further.
Spring has sprung, and so has my desire for bronzing in heavy doses! In my experience with self tanners, I have on occasion seen my brow get its faux-glow on...and it aint pretty. No blonde should ever start the trend for the burnished-brow look. I'm not going to blame the tanning culprit because clearly it's my application that needs a lesson or two. And I'll be honest, this is not the first time I have tanned my brows and shall I dare say, revealed other hair-tinted sightings. YIKES. Let's face it, for a blonde, there is no excuse!
Benefit caught-up with The Hangover 2 actress Jamie Chung, on her way back from the premiere in Berlin, Germany to discuss beauty, hometown hangouts and filming in Thailand…
Ok, so before I launch into all the benefits of this new skincare routine/lifestyle adjustment that I committed to in last week in last week's post I need to admit something. You know that whole "I'm going to skip out on mid week libations"...well I've done so for the most part, but I cracked on Cinco de Mayo--hey it happens. But I did stick to my guns for the most part. Here's a pic, what do you think? Does my skin look brighter?
After months of being totally stubborn, I decided to take the advice of all the ads that pop up on my Facebook (that happens to everyone right?)... internet dating here I come! Aside from conjuring up witty headlines and walking the fine line between snootiness and total self-deprecation in the horrendous “about me” section, it’s all about the first impression… the profile picture. Fortunately, I work here, so I recruited the help of the oh-so talented Shannon Pirie, national education director for Benefit Cosmetics, to give me her must have tips for taking a flawless photo.
