Ok, so before I launch into all the benefits of this new skincare routine/lifestyle adjustment that I committed to in last week in last week's post I need to admit something. You know that whole "I'm going to skip out on mid week libations"...well I've done so for the most part, but I cracked on Cinco de Mayo--hey it happens. But I did stick to my guns for the most part. Here's a pic, what do you think? Does my skin look brighter?
After months of being totally stubborn, I decided to take the advice of all the ads that pop up on my Facebook (that happens to everyone right?)... internet dating here I come! Aside from conjuring up witty headlines and walking the fine line between snootiness and total self-deprecation in the horrendous “about me” section, it’s all about the first impression… the profile picture. Fortunately, I work here, so I recruited the help of the oh-so talented Shannon Pirie, national education director for Benefit Cosmetics, to give me her must have tips for taking a flawless photo.
Upon hopelessly trying to stretch out the little crows feet in the mirror at my desk today, and mildly obsessing over the blemishes I didn't think would carry into adulthood, I came to the realization that if beauty is only skin deep, I should probably be taking better care of my skin.
If you are anywhere near the ages of 20 to 40 you are probably attending a wedding this summer. A wedding has a lot of responsibility, one of which is throwing/attending an unforgettable bachelorette party! Today our resident party gal Elaine to share her tips to the ultimate bachelor/bachelorette party place, Vegas!
I, personally, love love love eye cream. Day and night - even if I'm skipping moisturizer or (gasp!) sunscreen, I absolutely require a dose of concentrated moisture around my eyes. After all, a great eye cream drastically decreases puffiness and dark circles, not to mention moisturizes the delicate eye area to slow the appearance of fine lines. Yes, please!
The F word - flirting - has been on everyone's lips here at Benefit lately, thanks to our awesome online guide to the fine art of flirting. Of course, if you want to further fine-tune your skills, you can focus your approach based on the type of male you're trying to captivate. The ladies of Benefit HQ narrowed it down to a few fun types we encounter regularly in our city of San Francisco.
Flirting. It makes my heart race...and not in the good way...however, that was before The F Word. Yes, the F word, as in flirting. Benefit has pulled together impressive knowledge on the subject with an online dating guide, field research on nonverbal communication, and a cute video showing how any moment can be flirtatious. I definitely picked up a few tips to use and finally realized that flirting, like makeup, shouldn't be taken too seriously! To continue my research, I chatted with Jackie from Not a Pilgrim (her blog about living as a single 30 year-old in San Francisco). We got to chatting about dating in a big city, trying to smile on the bus, and lessons learned from online dating.
