There once was a time when glasses were not considered “geek chic” or “hipster.” It was also at this time, that my high school volleyball coach threatened to kick me off the team if I did not invest in contacts or sports goggles. To Costco I went, to purchase my astigmatism special contact lenses. They were painful, itchy, and fell out more than once during a game.
Annie and I just got back from another HSN show where the big star again was of course...they're real. Having eaten, breathed and slept it for the past 4 days, I thought why not do a blog post about it! For those of you who have it, it'll be a good refresher course and for those that have yet to try it...hopefully it'll tip the scale!
Meet my bestie Stacy. She has her engagement photos in an hour and needs a quick make-upper before the photographer get's to her apartment. WOW-zer! Media Darling (that's me!) to the rescue. I reach for my emergency makeup-bag with just the essentials to get Stacy picture-perfect!
Reality TV got it right. When you leave people alone in a booth with a camera, you strike pure entertainment gold. Using this sure-fire formula and adding in some "they're real! truth potion" ( thanks Belvedere Vodka), we set our sights on Lollapalooza, one of the most high-energy music festivals in the country. Check out our video confessions. Would you want to see more REAL video confessionals?
Benefit fans, you are officially...HILARIOUS! We're in day two of our week-long Benefit Confessapalooza Sweepstakes for a VIP trip to the Lollapalooza music festival, and the beauty confessions are coming in hot. Can I just tell you, I've experienced the sheer joy of seeing some of these confessions and if I could sum it up in one word it would be this: AWESOME! I've come across some very compelling confessions that need to be shared. Check out these little gems...
Maggie and I were just in Tampa for the launch of they're real mascara! I have to say that I am totally addicted to this mascara and it was killing me to not be able to talk about it until now because it is insane! As we were preparing for our first show, I brushed on theyr'e real and it dawned on me!... If I only apply it to one eye and go on air to show the difference then people will really understand just how crazy this mascara is. So I did just that.
Let me just start by saying that I didn't make up the tag line..."those are Faux Real". That came from the Benefit UK team but I love it so much I had to use it. Anyway, I wanted to do my own before & after for they're real! The Youtube video of they're real from HSN was posted on Benefit's Facebook page yesterday and well, I got a little jealous because Annie got to do a live Before & After but I didn't. (truth be told, we were going to do it but they "lost" my before shot so it had to be pulled last minute. That's show biz for you) So here it is.
